形態特徵

Large, evergreen, scandent shrubs trailing on trunks of trees or rocks, branches reddish-brown, puberulous.
Leaves alternate, coriaceous, oblong to broadly lanceolate, 6–15 cm long, 4–6 cm wide, subacuminate or acute at apex, obtuse at base, entire, glabrous and shining above, hirsute beneath, with 3 main veins from base, primary lateral veins 6–7 pairs, prominent and densely brown-hairy beneath; petioles pubescent, 1–1.5 cm long; stipules membranaceous, brown-hairy, linear-lanceolate, ca. 1 cm long, fugaceous.
Male and gall or feMale flowers mixed; Male flowers many, near tip of receptacle, long-pedicellate, perianth lobes 4, linear-lanceolate, stamens 2, filaments very short or anthers nearly sessile; gall flowers long-pedicellate, perianth lobes 4–5, linear, ovary sessile, globose, smooth, style lateral, rather short, stigma dilated; feMale flowers long-pedicellate or sessile, perianth lobes 3–4, lanceolate, ovary oblong or ellipsoid, smooth, style lateral, long, stigma tapering.
Receptacles dark green with white dots, blackish at maturity, solitary or paired, axillary, elliptic-obovoid or subpyriform, 6–10.5 cm long, 3–5 cm across; basal bracts 3, membranaceous, brown, pubescent; stalks stout, pubescent, 0.5–1 cm long.

台灣 : Rather common at altitudes of 1,200–1,900 m in the central mountains; commonly cultivated.
